Michelle & I went for our second & final pottery class. This class was to paint the bowls we made. We were excited to see how the shape turned out. We were hoping they would look like this...
It ended up looking like this instead...
I was relieved they were in the shape of a bowl & didn't crack! Mike, the owner/teacher, said that they were food, dishwasher & oven/mircorwave safe. We decided we could make the world's smallest casserole dish! He said he'd look for us in The Guiness Book of World Records ha! Here are some action shots...
I was not feeling very creative, so Mike served up some "creative juice" to help us out! You can see it in the bottom left of my picture. The last class ended with Michelle & I making our second bowl. Unfortunately hers didn't make it, but mine did. We decided to jointly paint a 30 Under 30 Commermorative Bowl that would make an appearance to our 30th birthday parties.
The colors will stand out more once it's fired again. I think they'll be ready to pick up in a week & will post some pictures of the finished product. Mike was telling Michelle & I that there might be a gallery show for all the Groupon participants at the Modern Art Museum next January/February. Everyone who participated in Groupon classes will get to bring their bowls for display. I'm so excited & hope this is able to happen! I'll post more details as soon as Mike finds out more.
